In the construction industry, there’s a common misconception that the larger a conveyor’s motor the more weight it can handle.  But the truth is actually quite the opposite.

Today we’ll be sharing with you the secret behind the LINKIT’s success: it’s powerful three-phase motor. Here at InterQuip we manufacture portable and mid-sized conveyors, all the way up to large scale industrial conveyors. The LINKIT Series was originally designed for small access jobs, but it’s turned out to be a great fit for DIY homeowners and industrial contactors.

Now the first thing most people assume about conveyors is that they require some sort of special power. That may be true with other conveyors, but with the LINKIT, we designed it with simplicity and ease of use in mind.

We use an inverter to take 110-volt power in and invert it to 3-phase that feeds the motor. 3-phase motors are a lot more powerful than standard 110v and can carry a significant amount more when under load. We use a direct drive drum motor meaning there is no gearbox, or chain and sprocket system which maintains maximum torque and power to the belt.

No special electrical requirements on site are needed, simply plug and play design enabling you to be set up within a matter of minutes. Our LINKIT’s can handle weights up to 440 lbs. at a time.

In the next post we will explain why we call this conveyor the LINKIT. We have a couple of huge announcements coming out in the near future, so stay tuned.

And If you’re interested in learning more about the LINKIT or want to set up a demo, give us a call!

Cheers!
